Feb 8, 2011. #1. Hi all. I have had a problem with my 578 that has surfaced over the last 2 weeks. WHile playing Blu-rays (from Samsung C6900) the audio and video disappears anywhere from 15 to 60 mins into the movie. The receiver is still on and still shows the correct HDMI port/sound format. Its as if the HDMI plug has been pulled out.

When I’ve not got the display energized/on, and I’m listening to anything out of the Motorola HD cable box thru my Onkyo TX SR 805, on their HDMI connections, periodically the audio will cut out…. Briefly… just a one two, or three, seconds or so, then return. This event occurs regularly. IN increments of approximately 5 – 6 minutes.

Update To Drop Out Issue I was just in contact with Onkyo re: drop out issue and was told that there was a firmware update issue to fix problem that was released 4/18/17. I updated my receiver and now will have to wait and see if it happens again. Below is Onkyo reply with web site. Hello, an update was released to resolve this issue on 4/18.
