I have an Onkyo TX-NR676. I tested two separate TV/monitors using the the HDMI Sub Out. It worked with no issue- mirroring the other HDMI out. I moved the TV and swapped to a longer HDMI cord and all of the sudden it no longer worked. I have to admit... when I moved the TV, I forgot to unplug the HDMI.

Some are those really skinny ones the cable people supply. I had a short one from Blue Jeans, but it just flat out won’t work. My PC uses a 12 ft, HDMI and all is well there too, audio, and video are fine. It’s like periodically, the Verizon gear, or the Onkyo is sending out some sensing signal to detect if all is well with the HDMI circuit.

I only just recently remembered that the Onkyo reciever has a sub-hdmi output and figured I could plug it in to the HDMI 5 input on the TV, which supposedly has the least amount of video processing lag on it and is recommended for use with video game systems by the manufacturer (as it doesn't do any HDR processing on that input).
