"Omni Audio 12.3" was on the back on a sticker with the specs. Hmmm. Never heard of them but a LOT of companies have come and gone. Acoustic suspension 12" woofers, 5" midrange, dome tweeter with front L-pads for both. Surrounds good. Hooked them up to a receiver with the wires I had in the car for just such a situation. Hmmm, sound pretty good.

These are terrible speakers, with no cross-over, very cheap speakers and no damping foam at all. A German hifi-magazine however has designed a couple of modifications so the speakers (Omni-Audio SA 12.3) will sound a bit better. The magazine is called 'Stereo', and it's issue nummber 4, april 1999.

I don't want to sound negative, but the only thing I can find about these speakers is that they are "White Van" speakers. Dynamat is designed to dampen the metal frames of doors and trunks for car installations where it works well. Similarly, a well designed speaker has the appropriate amount of internal stuffing usually made of foam or fiberglass.
