Hi guys, I use HDMI audio with my monitor. After the latest driver update I'm getting popping or clicking coming through the audio. This only happens as a sound is about to start, or a few seconds after a sound has finished. It sounds like it's trying to switch audio device, or settings. If i'm playing a game for example, no problems there.

Updated Realtek Network Drivers and the popping sound was less loud, but still there. Now I've set Link State Power Management in Power Options to off, and since 1 hour there was no popping/crackling sound. I hope it's fixed. edit: spoke too soon. But the popping sound appears only once every 30-40 minutes.

What A/V receiver are you using via HDMI? Check each speaker at various volume levels pushing volume "separately" within that receiver and you may fine a blown speaker. Also, wires touching improperly on the receiver source will cause this issue. Check both Receiver\Speaker connections for cross wires.

Sound popping was driving me crazy, I originally thought it was my motherboard dying, upgraded it for unrelated reasons (damn you Intel) and still had sound popping on my new one after a fresh W10 install too... I thought it may be a GPU driver challenge and have been waiting for nVidia to fix it for months... Nearly bought an add-in sound card.

When I launch a game, there's a popping sound. It only happens when I have Dolby Atmos enabled, it doesn't happen if I disable Dolby Atmos.
