    You're correct on placement... affix the damping material to the back of the speaker cabinet and then put the polyfill back between it and the drivers. I'm not sure about the No Rez, but the Blackhole 5 is 1.375" thick (from Sonic Craft's website). They sell it in large 24" x 27" sheets for $69.95, but right now they are running a 20% off sale.
