I could play a DVD using Nero Show Time. I installed the lasted verison of Windows Media Player from Microsoft web page. It will play the vidio, but I have no sound. I have checked and the speakers are on. I can't use the Nero now or stop windows from blocking it. Looks like I will have to reformatt the hard drive!

Uninstalled WMP11 which rolled back to WMP9 and then reinstalled WMP11. Still no audio with both. Audio and DVD work perfectly with Real Player and WinDVD so just don't know why WMP11 won't play audio but will play video. Seems to give a small 'click' sound when starting to play an MP3.
