The sound appeared after initially changing the language the first time. iOS7 on iPad. The sound stopped working for no apparent reason after opening the cover despite having worked 2 mins before - the icons for speaker/headphones/volume all appeared and worked as normal. Very strange bug, almost as strange as the fix. Thank you!

When I edited the file name (removed the %5f) I was able to get XBMC to load but had no sound. I followed the Wiki iOS instructions to uninstall and also removed the XBMC source and resprang the device. When I reentered the source I was able to get XBMC to load without modifying the file name as I had before. Still had no sound..

Don't know of this is an issue in the pc version of xbmc, but on my raspberry pi version there is a known issue with hdmi sound and the audio engine option. If the audio engine option is selected it, for some reason, makes the hdmi option disappear and you can only select analog and optical. Which for me gave me no sound at all.
