Maybe your monitor does not support audio over HDMI. Maybe since it is a monitor and not a TV, only video is supported by HDMI. Jon indicates that your monitor has analog audio out, so if the monitor can't convert the digital audio to analog, then perhaps it won't work. Just a thought.

Unfortunately for you, the Apple TV+ service is not compatible with HDMI adapters. The Apple TV app should be compatible with HDMI 1.4 adapters for iTunes Store content, I think, if the content is not HDR. You may need to adjust the preferences for SDR.
