    The file that I loaded was a WMV file of a recorded meeting. The tracks on the movie maker shows the waveforms that there is audio there but it doesn't play it. The audio plays fine in the media player. I added an audio track to the movie as well and it doesn't play in movie maker but it does on all other applications including media player.
