    There is an indication of the conforming in the bottom right of the UI with a yellow bar. At first the source didnt play the audio as the confining wad not finished yet.     It sounds as if you are dragging from the timeline into the source monitor. If so, that is why you are not getting the audio - that's how Premiere (up to 6.5, at least) works. Don't ask why! Drag from project to source window and try that. You should have both video and audio options available. If not, you have a setup problem somewhere.
