Try setting "Win32UltraLowLatencyMode" value in the Rocksmith.INI file to 0. This will disable some of the new latency-reducing techniques we've added in Rocksmith 2014. It'll add a little latency, but may resolve your audio crackling. Try setting the “ForceWDM” value in the Rocksmith.INI file to 1.

So i haven't played rocksmith in a while. Before it worked perfectly, but now it keeps saying that there's no audio output device plugged. I'm using 3,5mm plug, not usb so that isn't the problem. I don't have external soundcard either. Haven't updated my computer or anything, rocksmith just suddenly stopped working. Using Windows 8.1 if that matters.

"No audio output device detected" I've been getting this issue for 10 months whenever I start up Rocksmith and have tried everything I've found online, everything I thought of myself, and everything Ubi support recommended and am just completely lost as to what to do, so maybe someone here will know.

The trick is that you alt tab from rocksmith, then switch your audio output for example from headphones to speakers, then back again. Now you should be able to hear your guitar outside of rocksmith. It's pretty neat to have the tones you want from rocksmith and just jam along to whatever on youtube or such. Hope this helps
