If it's no audio with background music on a slideshow, you may not have the proper rights for the iTunes music. To work around DRM issues, you can burn the song(s) to a CD then re-import them. I proceeded to transfer that to iDVD and customized it there. I played it on iDVD (I didn't save it as a disk image) and the audio and everything else worked beautifully. When i burned it onto a dvd, the dvd would play but no audio in my DVD player. Thinking it's my DVD players problem, I tried it on my Macbook and the audio failed there too.

Using IDVD 6, I burned 7 DVDs. 3 had audio, 4 didn't. All had the obligatory music intro from IDVD program but when you pressed play for my movie there was no sound. All DVDs were from the same batch. I trashed preferences, etc. It did nothing.
