I have installed codec packs and tried different versions of vdub to no avil. 1- I launch virtualdub-MPEG2 1.6.19 ( build 24528 ). 2- File / open video file / select my vid which is in MPG format ( renames from .vob ) 3. No, you don't want to apply the codec, you just want virtualdub to recognize the audio, so you can rip it. Open the file in vdubmod, select streams, stream list. RIGHT click the audio file, click Save WAV.

I tried to do a capture test with the Virtualdub mod that I got from here (virtualdub 1.9.11 + Filters) but it crashed my computer on both attempts.
