I am using component cables on a older tv. I checked to see if the problem was the tv by using another tv with the component cables and even used a new set of cables from a previous xbox360. Still no sound just video. Brought the system over to a friends and try hdmi cable and I got video and sound.

Just one thing, I get no audio out from the Analog port. I have it connected to a LED TV via an already owned component cable (YPbPr) which I have successfully tested with 2 or 3 other -slim- PS2s. So, if it's not the TV or the cable it must be the console, right?

Xbox 360. No sound with component cables.... SSJ4Bass 10 years ago #1. Or at least I assume they are component cables. I got a 32 inch led hdtv recently and decided to try the second set of plugs on the av cord for my 360. They are ones that originally came with the xbox, by the way. I'll turn on the 360, get picture just fine, but no sound.

Switching to the regular AV mode gives me audio. Same cables, no other connections. Please help, 'cause I'm at my wits end. As a note, the diagram in the manual for audio under the component video connection does show the analog audio cables going to an external amp, but that seems illustrative only. I haven't got a home theater in my current ...
