Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2003 I have owned the VT-2's for four years and still have not heard any speaker anywere near the same price perform as well. Where most misinterpert the sound of this speaker is in its totally neutral sound. If you have a poor source the NHT VT-2 will let you know in spades.

The VT-2's are capable of putting out superb raw sound at all volume levels. They are not suited for everybody. They will NOT produce a warm or "smooth" sound; rather, they will emit true and accurate sound reproduction. I feel that the sound quality you get is comparable to towers that are 2-3 times the price.

I am using a Rotel RMB 1095 (200X5). I am switching from Genesis Genre 1's because I didn't think they were "dynamic enough". After listening to the NHT VT2.4's out of the box, I am about ready to switch back. They hurt my ears. Maybe they will smooth out with break in, but the tweeters sound very metallic and harsh to me.
