-Yes Wii Mode does output audio via RCA if in HDMI mode so this is something that should be patchable for Wii U proper. -Wii Mode has no settings of its own (wrench menu). -I did an unscientific test and it did not seem like I was getting DPL with NPC Pikmin 2 (first game I found with the logo).
