    Just to post an update. I've tried many different ROMs over the past few months and have experienced audio delay above and beyond standard android audio latency in all of them, keeping current with the google play Mupen releases. I've also been trying n64oid on all said ROMs and found the audio delay to be almost nonexistent compared to Mupen.

    EDIT: finally figured out how to solve the subscreen delay (long black screen when pressing start button). The solution is to use a cheat code that will prevent the delay. The code can be found here for your specific ROM version/region. I have only used it on base mupen64plus emus, haven't tried the libreto.
