I too am getting no audio in MPEG Streamclip, neither when I play the clip in it nor when I play the exported clip in QT. Funny thing is when I first started using it about 2 weeks ago, I converted a few AVI's just fine into MP4's using it, with sound. Then for no reason I can fathom MPEG Streamclip stopped giving me sound.

Open QuickTime Pro and open the original MPEG. Choose File Exports QuickTime. This will export the video, but will not export the sound because QuickTime does not demux. So I import it into MPEG Streamclip, edit the clip, and then export it. But the audio is not synced with the video. I've played around with it quite a bit and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. On the export, the settings I am using are: Export to MPEG-4, Compression is Apple MPEG4 Compressor, frame size is 720 x 480 (DV-NTSC).

And here's the fix: Download MPEG Streamclip, and unzip it--no install needed. The latest beta version is fine. Open one of the broken files in MPEG Streamclip. Select File > Save As, and select a new save location. You probably want to keep the file name the same as the original (this is the default). Hit OK.
