If I connect the Xoom via headphone jack to RCA imput it woks just fine and get good quality sound. I tried connecting to a Denon AVR-2308CI and I get the same result that I get with the Bose system. I have used 3 different HDMI cables, including a Motorola brand. No difference. Picture quality is great in all cases but the sound is just flat.

The Xoom HDMI sound / audio quality problem is still present in Jelly Bean <sigh>. I've posted in the Motorola forum thread on this subject (titled "HDMI Sound quality") to no avail so I called in a complaint and got a case number. I'd suggest all other Xoom owners call the Motorola help line and ask for this software problem to be fixed.
