Hi Karl42,. Thanks for posting. Have you tried a different headset/earphone on the audio jack? Can you do a hardware test the audio connection by going to Moto Help/Device Help > Fix/Device Diagnosis > Hardware test > Headset jack/Hardware test.

@akash03 either replace the headphone jack or check the copper "legs" to make sure they are still making contact. Either use this video or this one in reverse to get to the jack. It is a modular jack and does not require soldering etc. - Motorola Moto G 3rd Generation
