    It depends, unless the active speakers have active/digital crossovers I would say the amp in the Naim is likely better, so go with passive speakers. Take a look at ATC as they make speakers for both worlds, and yes there is a difference between designing for a studio monitor (nearfield) compared to hifi (farfield). Vote.
