Oddly, just a few weeks ago, someone posted a message saying their RS8 had too much bass. Which in turn makes me wonder if you don't have more of a room problem than a speaker problem? In general the brightness in Monitor Audio is caused by a peak in the treble response, but that peak is up very high, roughly in the 15khz to 20khz region.

Just managed to get a pair of Monitor Audio RS8s so have an addition £200-300 to spend on an amplifier. Realise the budget isn't brilliant but was thinking it would be better suited to get used amps rather than under-performing new ones?
