The frequency response of the car speakers is only 55Hz while the BX2 are rated to 42Hz. An open baffle design on the car speakers as far as I am aware would give less bass as well so hard to see how the BX2 would disappoint on the bass front (although they clearly seem to disappoint you).

I compared them with my Monitor Audio Silver 8i that i have as front speakers (BX 2 as back speakers),The BX2 sounds as open and warm as the 8i, the bass is deep for a small speaker not as deep as the 8i. If you also use them as back speakers let them run in on your frontspeaker position for the best result. OVERALL. RATING. 5

Dec 15, 2014. #19. I recently bought BX2's along with a Cambridge Azur 651A. I bi-wired the speakers using speaker A and speaker B, running bi-wires to the BX2's. This makes a significant difference and you have the amp driving the HF and LF separately. You just need to make sure you have both speakers turned on!
