I have a MKV file with several tracks: video (MPEG4), audio (DTS EN), audio (AC3 FR) and subtitles. I wanted to extract the video and French audio, then merge them back into an MKV file. I did this via mkvextract and mkvmerge (without any specific options). The MKV file I got is playable but the audio is shifted (by 10 or so seconds).

Open the video with the out of sync audio in VLC and then select Tools -> Track Synchronization (Mac users: select Window -> Track Synchronization) Locate the section titled Audio/Video – within that window there’s a ‘timer’ with “up and down arrows” to adjust the timing of the audio. This is where the magic happens.

Audio out of sync after remuxing. This problem has plagued me since forever. I have Bluray to MKV rips with multiple language tracks. If I remux them and exclude the non-English tracks, the audio becomes ever so slightly out of sync. It's a split second delay, but noticeable.

BUT since using OBS remux feature to convert my videos when i have imported them into Resolve it hasn't given this warning and has left the project framerate at 60fps So i believe that the remux option in OBS isn't reading the correct framerate from the imported mkv file and thus is causing audio crackling.

I have ripped them as MKV containing the original contents: VC-1 for video (24000/1001 fps), and Dolby TrueHD. I am bitstreaming the audio to a Yamaha RX-V867 through HDMI from Media Center (MyMovies). One thing we noticed is that although the A/V sync starts out right, over time the video appears to be falling behind the audio.

Always remux the video. Don't convert it, unless you want to make the file smaller. Remxuing means changing the container (file format) without changing anything else. A tool like Xmedia Recode is good at that. It has a UI very similar to Handbrake, so you can use this program to fix your syncing issue.

Thanks for the tip bro! I've been going out of my mind with the audio being out of sync on every movie with a DTS-HD track that I tried to remux. I'm going to download the latest tsmuxer and see what happens, hopefully it will fix this problem. Quantum of Solace and Role Models are another example.

All Videos' Audio Out Of Sync With Avidemux

    https://avidemux.org/smif/index.php?topic=18181.0
Initial output is .mkv and then I use FFMPEG to remux to .mp4. All audio in the original .mkv (and in the .mp4) are 100% in sync however when I open the video in Avidemux the videos' audio is out of sync by almost 1100ms. Sure, I can shift audio but I'd prefer to not have to do that for every single new video I'm going to be throwing on here.
