New Member. Feb 5, 2020. #1. Hello - I am looking to import home movies from a MiniDV via firewire using OBS. I have all the proper hardware adapters to connect my MacBook pro to the camcorder and I am able to add the camcorder as a video source in OBS. Video seems to capture just fine. My issue is getting the audio stream to be recognized in OBS.

MiniDV no audio. Hello all New to MiniDV but my grandpa used it back in the early 00s. Just got done converting boxes of VHS tapes. Now onto the 40 or so MiniDV tapes. Got the original camera that they where recorded on. 1st issue - Tapes would play glitchy with lines running through it with audio. I used a head cleaner tape and that resolved it!

Re: MiniDV tape with no sound You can buy head cleaners and funnily enough it's often the audio that suffers first in DV if the heads are dirty .. but the symptoms you describe could also be worn out heads, and over use of a head cleaning tape could have caused this.

I'm digitizing a bunch of old MiniDV tapes, which play fine in my old DV camcorder, but when I digitize them using iMovie (latest version) or Final Cut Pro (latest version), the audio is always out of sync in the final files.
