MI Audio Tube Zone I had always thought that MI Audio Tube Zone was a high-gain distortion pedal. And it is. But then one day I learned that the Gain knob has a special taper, that allows you to finely tune in on its low-gain range. Intrigued — does that mean this pedal is an attempt at do-all? So I got my hands on one to try it out. Features

No idea, but I love the Tube Zone. Yes, it's thick/compressed/potentially dark, but it is just a killer smooth high-gain. MI Audio teased about possibly bringing it back into production. It has a versatile EQ, and I think it would make an awesome MIDI programmable analog preamp, like the SansAmp PSA 1 - loads of different sounds in that box.

The guy at the store described the tube zone as a higher gain blue boy and also Mi Audio's pride and joy. It is higher gain the the BB, but not rediculously so. At first, it was like plugging into any other OD pedal that cut all the bass, even when the Char. knob was maxed. Very dissapointing. I went back and read the directions.

The Tube Zone is VERY versatile: A lot of gain on tap, a lot of tonal options. I'd say try and play a Tube Zone in person...... rdm Members 6.7k Members Posted July 23, 2008 They're 2 different animals. The TZ is highly tweakable and very versatile. Great mild OD to full on Boogie type distortion with very tight bottom end. The Rat can't compete.
