The difference is that MI have updated some of the components up to a higher audiophile quality. This gives a little more headroom and improves the tone. I have both, and a unnatural and perhaps misunderstood love for the V1, though I won't say it is night and day, the V2 is definitely an improvement. Great pedal, absolutely great pedal!

The V1 is insanely loud -- to the point that it was a little annoying. Plus, the V1 lacked the top end that the V2 thanks to that internal presence trimmer. The V1 was almost a little muddy at times, comparatively, unless you completely crank the 'Tone' knob. So presence trimmer, more top end, no volume issue -- my favorite distortion pedal EVAR.
