I also use the 784B with an FT-450D (which has IF DSP) and I will state without question that it can be of great benefit. Of course, if you have a rig that has no IF DSP you have two choices: audio DSP or none at all. For the price, the 784B makes a big difference. I shopped around a good deal before buying the MFJ.

I'm looking at MFJ models 784B(Tunable DSP Audio Filter) and the 1026(Deluxe Noise Cancel, Enhancer,Antenna). They look very similar to me in what they do. I would want to use one for SW listening, don't need it for transmitting. Not too sure about what to get. I'm using an Alinco DX-R8. Thanks.
