McIntosh power amplifiers sound about like a 20-year old Audio Research tube amplifier that needs new output tubes...; fairly good, but rolled-off, soft bass, pretty clean midrange, not the state-of-the art in transparency or sonic accuracy. Easy to listen to if you are not a real critical listener.
