Mapleshade recordings are a real sonic treat on a good system! The sound in the Mapleshade room at Capital Audio Fest last summer was below average though nonetheless. Tweaks can only get you so far.....

Re: Mapleshade. what I find really interesting is Pierre's choice of microphone. He uses two PZMs (baffled) into a tape machine through a preamp of some sorl. PZMs are not typically used as "lone stereo pair" mics..but work well as on-stage, conferance call captures,/reinforcement, etc.. I guess he has modified his, though..
