Re: Mapleshade Their recordings are superb. I highly recommend them. Their other products range from overpriced all the way to, you're out of your mind. $800 for a piece of wood and some brass footers (speaker stands)? They sure don't need to sell many with the profit structure they work with. Log in or register to post comments

Mapleshade and Audio Point Products - Stereophile.com

I'd like feedback on Mapleshade products, and their tweak devices in particular. The company presents some very strong arguments for component isolation combined with using heavy brass footers to "drain" unwanted vibrations and resonances into heavy maple platforms. The same questions applie to Audio Points from Star Sound Technologies.

mapleshade brass footers. - High-End Audio Discussion Forum

    https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/mapleshade-brass-footers
When I moved up to my current 2-channel system (a significant $30k upgrade ), any MapleShade system sonic effects evaporated in THAT system . In fact a NAIM FRAME audio rack that channels the audio vibration away instead of a bulk-mass isolation approach a la Maplshade works much better in my current system.

On March 3, 2002, The Baltimore Sun published an article by Dan Fesperman on Pierre Sprey of Mapleshade. In it, the author recounts Pierre's bad-boy Pentagon past and subsequent spiraling descent into audiophilia and recording studio obsession. Turns out, much of Pierre's pre-audio bio was news to me.

Mapleshade Isoblocks & Ready-To-Be-Finished Maple Platform ...

Long before I had heard of Pierre Sprey and his Mapleshade Audio products, I built a TNT Flexy-rack for my components with Maple shelves. The TNT recipe calls for MDF shelves, and at first that was what I used. But upon setting my CD player on the rack for the first time, the sound went from smooth and musical to hard and fatiguing.
