    I have a late 2008 macbook, aluminum unibody. I understand that with a converter to hdmi, my tv set will only play video, and not audio. I am wondering what are my options to solve this issue. I've seen that on monoprice there is a 26$ converter for both video and audio, but my macbook is old, and might call it a day soon.

After searching and posting on here, I find that my 2008 MacBook will support HDMI video-only and not sound. My MB works with my Panasonic HDTV through VGA ok and I will have to have a separate audio cable.
