    I’m having a similar issue. I have external speakers connected via the 3.5mm audio jack, every time the Mac mini sleeps the speakers no longer work. I’ve tried changing the audio output in System Preferences without success. The only way I have found to get them working again is to unplug them from the jack in back then plug them back in.
