There are two 2009 Mac mini models, Early 2009 and Late 2009. I can tell you for sure that the Early '09 Mac mini does not have integrated audio from the mini-DIsplayPort. It was my understanding that the Late '09 Mac minis built in 2009 also did not have integrated audio, but those made in early 2010 did.
