EDIT: the M-Audio Studiophile AV40 looks good. I'm also considering Dayton B652 speakers for $30 plus a $22 T-amp (thanks to /u/ZeosPantera for the idea) as a $50 alternative (the speakers are supposed to be great for the price, not sure about the amp though).
