That said, the Solaris is (by far) the dullest and thinnest sounding condenser I have ever used. In A\B test with everything, the Solaris always comes in sounding noticably thinner and wimpier (I don't know how else to say it) than every other mic in my studio. Features Festures are good. The mic feels solid and the shock mount is well made.

The M-Audio Solaris has done the job. So far, I haven't found any need for the 10-dB pad, but the ability to change the microphone pattern is very handy, eliminating the need for multiple, special-purpose microphones.

M-Audio Solaris pro Level Microphone review

This microphone is plush in the way that produces. It can bring out the best in your voice during a recording. The thing that I noticed about using the M-Audio Solaris pro Level Microphone was that it did well against popping. See when you record you need a popper most times.

The highs of the Solaris weren’t quite as smooth as those of the Dragonfly and the C 3000 B, but the overall sound was clean and clear. The Solaris was especially nice on a soft-spoken female vocalist reading text, because it provided good definition on a quiet, smooth voice without emphasizing sibilance. In 2006, the mic’s MSRP was $349.95.
