    Thanks, I'll forget about the AV40's then, and give the BX5's a go. I can't think of anything in that price range that is better personally, and I also cant afford to pay much more. I'm noticing things on my friends ATC SCM20's that I cant hear at home, distortion, and other nasties, so I need a speaker that will give me a more analytical sound.

    Though I think the BX5a can hit lower frequencies, I remember my AV40 producing slightly more bass output with bass boost. BX5a is definitely not the solution for extra bass. If you dont want to add a sub, the only 2.0 speakers I know that have relatively decent bass is the A5. I'm not looking for extreme bass.
