Yes you would certainly get the sound from that DVI/RGB audio input by using a vga into the TV. The DVI/HDMI lead will cut the sound when its plugged in because its turning off the other audio circuits. It's not a fault with the TV at all, at least I do not think so . It's just that you will have to use other alternatives to get the sound like I have already posted.
