The first and most obvious of these is the passive design approach (no amps). Fashion and conformity has lead much of the pro audio market to swallow active monitor designs almost whole in the last decade, but like the vast majority of audiophile speakers, the Lenehan approach is staunchly passive.

The Lenehan Audio PDX is a product from Brisbane-based Mike Lenehan, an affable and enthusiastic chap who has made his name in Australian Hifi circles as making one of the finest standmount loudspeakers one can buy for ~AU$3000. The ML-1 has been king of the standmount heap for many audiophiles here in Australia for a good few years.

    https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/review-lenehan-ml-1-monitor
Now audio memory is not to be trusted that much but I am willing to state that the Lenehan’s are significantly superior to both the ProAc’s and Usher’s and somewhat better than the Sonus Faber’s. In summary, these are fantastic little speakers and deserve to be treated as a genuine competitor to any other small speaker I have heard and owned.
