Here's the thing though, he isn't able to offer a drop in recone like JL. He doesn't have that crazy cone/surround that the W7 is known for. When he reconed a W7, he removed the standard JL basket and drilled and tapped the top plate on the JL motor and then attached a standard 12 spoke basket and then made a recone for THAT.

When rebuilding this W7 series subwoofer, we used a custom flatwound voice coil and stiffer suspension design with heavy gauge leadwires hand stitched directly to the spider. But in all seriousness I used to run all JL for maybe a year. But once I made the switch to IA I never looked back. One of my DP21"s walked all over my 4 13w7's on less power, and still sounded great. JL makes a decent product dont get me wrong. But I thing a W7 fits into the category of maybe a $350-$400 speaker, not $1100 like retail suggests.
