I haven't listened to one through the Jetta's stereo system, but most of them have about the same volume and sound quality as FM. On another note, I'm not sure how a real "iPod" sounds through the aux adapter, but my Rio Cali MP3 player has to have the volume turned all the way up and the SQ is pretty lousy.
