Jens' layout already has separated power supplies for the voltage amp and the driver+ output stage. The front end of mine takes about 30mA. The peak current into the drivers can approach 500mA, so it would make sense to power these from the output stage exactly as Jens' has done.

Jens has made the Low TIM design boards with 6 and 10 output transistors. There is a schematic for the Double Barreled Leach Amp (schematic V2.7) posted by Jens) which has 16 outputs. The 6 transistor amplifier would be ideal for home theater and other general hi-fi use.

Jens' current limiting circuit differs from the Leach (v4.5), but I have no idea if it protects against the scenario you mentioned. If you're able to retrofit the Sloan or similar upgraded current limiter, please post the updated circuit here.

The last published schematic by Jens Rasmussen and a corresponding BoM (which may not match exactly, use with caution after verification). My 8+8 BJT layout, based on the 1.05.12 schematic with some differences, is also attached. Notes: 1) C4 and C22 do not have a value (I dropped them from my layout as well).
