Despite that, there is one big band in the mainstream I'd say at least sometimes comes close to Soundgarden's style: Audioslave. Audioslave should have been a better band than it was. It was a combination of my two favorite bands growing up— Soundgarden (with Cornell's vocals) and Rage Against the Machine (with everyone except de la Rocha's vocals).
