    1. Jul 15, 2014. #1. Hi, I'm new to the site. My iPad's speaker system keeps having this loud fuzzy noise when it plays any sound at all. I've heard it before out of a guitar amp, except the iPad can still play some of the actual wanted sound. It happens both when I use earbuds and the onboard speaker.

In response to Itchan18. It might just be a software fluke. Try this and see if it helps. You will not lose any data. Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

I've been asked to repair an iPad 2 with a broken speaker. Whenever there is any sound played on the device through Music, Ringtones or Youtube etc. the speaker crackles and sounds slightly distorted. Fair enough I thought, I'll just replace the speaker. I replaced the speaker and tried it, still the same result - crackling and slightly distorted.

My default headphone jack is working just fine when I plug it into my IPad but when I plug it into my PC via splitter cable, there is constant fuzzy noise which annoys me so much while watching videos and playing games. It's like there is a printer printing stuff in the background as quietly as possible.

If you hear sound, try making a call with your iPhone and turn on speakerphone. On iPad or iPod touch, make a FaceTime call. If you still can't hear, or hear static or crackling, then your network or reception could be the issue. Try to call again later, or from a different location. FaceTime isn't available in all countries or regions.
