Is it time to give up on the Echo Layla 24/96? I've been using this extremely versatile audio/midi interface for 15 years. It has always performed well and I truly enjoy the 8 in/8 out analog and 8 in/ 8 out digital interface. It uses a PCI interface card and frankly, finding motherboards with PCI slots is becoming difficult.

Unlike my experience on os x 10.11.1, the layla24 audio drivers (echo layla24 v8.6) that I downloaded and installed were recognized right away as I plugged in and turned on the layla. I went through and setup basic sample rate, buffer settings, etc.

Caveat: The 1903 update caused me some issues with audio recording that eventually led to my reverting to Factory-delivered Windows version on my DAW. It does not necessarily mean that there is an incompatibility with ECHO Layla 3G drivers and Windows 1903 and later, just that I cannot vouch for those configs.

The Echo Layla 24 is a great rack able audio interface that I was so thankful to have a few years ago. Keep in mind that if you are looking for this device that it is no longer being created, they have upgraded it a little while go. But you can still find these online and people are getting rid of them to upgrade.
