I can't solve your problem I'm afraid, but I have a Z590-A Pro motherboard, with a front audio panel connected to JAUD1, and it works fine. The Realtek app recognizes when I plug anything into the ports and asks me to identify it, as normal. I'm not sure what you're referring to when mentioning the HD Audio plug and the AC97 plug.
