From the PS3 main menu: 1. Settings->Sound Settings->Audio Output Settings. 2. Change it from HDMI to Digital Out (Optical). I do NOT have optical hooked up on my PS3, so if you have it hooked up, you may want to unhook it.. probably shouldn't matter. 3.

I have a video that plays on my PS3, but no audio output. I have seen this with vbr audio which I fix with VirtualDub. I have tried everything to correct this video, but I end up with the audio out of sync with the video. I think the problem is the bit rate: 40.0 Kbps, but bumping it to 128 creates an out of sync problem.
