Audio not supported « My Humax Forum

I have humax HDR1000S/1010S. It's connected to NAS drive. I'm playing movies(mkv files), some of them playing ok, but most not. Video is playing but no sound. I suspect that codec is not supported, I noticed DTS audio codec is not playing. Also mkv files has option for langue track, but there are no function in humax to change it.

Humax HDR Fox T2 - proven video files supported | AVForums

According to VLC the video codec is "MPEG-1/2 Video (mpgv)" and audio codec is "A52 Audio (aka AC3) (a52)". The video works fine but the audio is either silent (over HDMI) or makes a brief noise every second or so over SPDIF optical (whilst the amp freaks out trying to lock on to the stream) - it also displays "Dolby Digital" over the video.

Stream #0.1: Audio: mp3, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 128 kb/s tells me that the video stream is mpeg4 (which isn't actually that helpful, it could be xvid or h264) at 1151 kb/s and the audio stream is mp3. The Humax appears to cope with with xvid (and hence divx) and h264 and mp3 audio, so this file will probably play.

Submitted by Andy Jenkinson on Tue, 12/14/2010 - 21:04. Having recently acquired a Humax HDR-Fox T2 (a Freeview+HD PVR for the uninitiated), I have been spending some time exploring its capabilities.
