Product: Elitebook 8540w. Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit) I am trying to connect my notebook to my TV through DisplayPort. I bought a DisplayPort to HDMI cable. The image is fine, but no audio is coming through. I do not see the TV as device in the Sound panel, and I only have the IDT audio control panel (not the Intel one).

A DisplayPort with the "++" symbol is supposed to support audio and the 8000 desktop does indeed show the "++" symbol but I do not get audio. The audio system settings don't show anything other than headphone and speakers. I have an HP Elitebook 2540P notebook that also has the DisplayPort with the "++" symbol and it works perfectly.

Connected to the NUC is a monitor with built-in speakers, the cable is a DisplayPort cable. With Windows 8.1, there were no sound problems. The device manager of Windows 10 shows two devices under "Sound, video and game controllers" - Intel Display Audio and Realtek High Definition Audio, but no errors.
