T-reg: A High-Voltage Regulator for Tube Amps | …

The performance is quite respectable for a high-voltage tube supply. The best all round performer is the MOSFET, because of its high transconductance; however, differences are small. Hum and noise under load are typically below 500μV RMS in a 20kHz bandwidth for all versions (mostly line-related hum components).

High Voltage Regulator DIY Audio Home High voltage regulator This is an implementation of a "Maida-style" high voltage floating regulator. Here is the schematic (or download it as aPDF file): This regulator is of the type originally shown in an application note by Michael Maida, then of National Semiconductor, in 1980. It showed a

Shunt or Not - Looking for the Ultimate Audio Voltage ...

In this great article, author Are Waagbø, himself a confessed "a passionate 50-year-old hi-fi amateur, with many years of practice and experience," and admirer of Erno Borberly work and designs, shares his experience in the relentless search for "the ultimate audio voltage regulator." As Waagbø writes, "Testing more shunt models with …

Simple High Voltage Regulator - diyAudio

Using the idea from LT3042, with the help of cascoded CCS, a simple, yet reasonable low noise, high voltage, regulator, can be achieved. Operation is simple. Push constant current into a resistor and you have a voltage reference. Then use a high voltage mosfet to feed some usable current at output.

Brand X Voltage Regulator - Sky High Car Audio

The peak voltage will vary on manufacturer of the alternator you have. Rating is based off the 14.8v pcm bypass regulator we sell and install in the denso based alternators we build. Some manufacturers will see 15.2-4v peak with a 14v-14.2v set point.

T-reg revised – MOSFET-based high-voltage regulators for tube amps. Jan Didden In 2009 I designed a high-voltage regulator for tube equipment [1, 2]. Originally based on a series tube, I also gave circuit details for use with an enhancement mode MOSFET. However, the readily available enhancement mode MOSFETs like the DN2540 have limited short ...

Update 2 Nov 2017: AudioXpress has placed my AX T-Reg article online. Thank you Editor-in-Chief João Martins! This is a project for a high-voltage regulator for tube amplifiers. The design will provide anything from 50V to 500V DC and more at up to 1A DC. The tube on the assembly in the picture is an EL84 for the preamp 50mA max version.

Discrete Voltage Regulators for Audio ... - Sparkos Labs, Inc.

I don't line FET's a lot, but in this application, it is the way to go. You can use a power tube as well, for 40 mA, the ECL85 does a good job, just use the LR8 instead of the Zehner diode. Attachment: Regelbare Voeding met EL84 en extra filamentvoeding.pdf. All the best. This post has a file attachment.
